Exercise for Health Performance



Highly specialised presenters bring their clinical experience and knowledge to explore the practical, evidence-based use of exercise for both preventing and treating chronic disease and optimising sport performance.

This comprehensive online course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to give specific evidence-based exercise recommendations in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. In addition, it will teach the foundations of sports nutrition and performance, designed to empower busy clinicians to help their patients achieve their training goals.

Current and evolving evidence will be presented including nutriceuticals, diet, lifestyle and environmental factors, alongside the range of available testing and investigation options. This course is designed for GP’s, sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists, chiropractors, exercise physiologists, nutritionists and naturopaths.

By the end of this module, participants will be able to:

Assess the interplay between the impact of sport and exercise on gut and immune health, the intestinal barrier and microbiome.

Describe the role of exercise in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and its application in clinical practice.

Recommend clear and informed individual guidance on diet and nutritional supplements for athletic performance, including hydration, macro and micro nutrients

Identify the unique nutritional requirements of female athletes at different stages of life

Implement a nutritional approach for prevention, assessment and treatment of muscluo-skeletal injury in sport.

Interpret the effects of exercise on pathological test results, including haematology and biochemistry

You may cancel your registration at any point prior to receiving your online access for a full refund minus an administration fee of £50. Once you have received your online access and password there is no refund even if you have not started the online training. If you want to extend your online access you may do so 1 month at a time for a fee of £55 per month.
